First-half goals from Moses Odubajo and David Mooney gave Leyton Orient victory over Crewe and top spot in League One.

Odubajo lashed home Dean Cox's through-ball to put the O's ahead before Crewe conceded two penalties in six minutes.

Kevin Lisbie was pulled down by Alex midfielder Chuks Aneke at a corner and put the spot-kick wide but strike partner Mooney made no mistake, firing home after being felled in the box.

Crewe rarely threatened although Aneke hit the crossbar with 10 minutes left.

Post-match: Orient boss Slade

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade speaks to 91热爆 London 94.9:

"It was a great performance in the first half. They didn't seem to be able to cope with us defensively, and we carved a lot of openings in the first period.

"Crewe inevitably came back into it in the second period, got a few corners, put us under pressure, but when they did we were good enough to get the block in and there was an exceptionally good save from Jamie Jones along the way as well.

"When you've had all the play in the first period and could have been three or four goals up, and you've not put the game completely to bed, you have to expect Crewe to come at you more in the second half, which they did.

"But we stood up and a clean sheet gives me a real boost, to be honest."
