MK Dons boss Karl Robinson says young midfielder Dele Alli would cost an interested club "millions", following his "scary" performance on Tuesday.

Numerous scouts watched the 17-year-old play a central role in his side's 2-1 League Cup win at Northampton.

"Personally I don't think he's for sale. It's going to take millions," Robinson told 91热爆 Three Counties Radio.

"I don't want to sell him, the chairman doesn't want to sell him. There will be a day that we have to."

Alli, a product of the MK youth system, has started both games this term, including Saturday's goalless draw at Shrewsbury, and starred in a friendly victory over a Tottenham XI last week.

The midfielder announced himself on the professional scene with a stunning strike in an FA Cup first-round replay against Cambridge City last season.

"The kid is destined to be a great, great player. But great players have a time span they have to go along," said Robinson.

"His performance against Northampton, that's scary. At 17 years of age to do that. Sam Baldock [who left MK for West Ham and is now at Bristol City] at that age wasn't conducting himself as Dele has just done."
