Brentford 2-2 Bury

  • Published

Bury ground out a draw at Brentford despite having just two shots on goal and little of the ball.

Harry Forrester headed in Shaleum Logan's cross for the hosts' opener, but Tom Soares levelled it up when he rifled home from outside the box.

Loan striker Marcello Trotta soon restored Brentford's advantage with a cool finish from a narrow angle.

But Nicky Ajose's glancing header earned his side a valuable point after Logan had was caught napping.

The result left Bury in the relegation places, but just five points behind 20th-placed Scunthorpe, while Brentford dropped to sixth place, level on points with Sheffield United and Yeovil in fifth and seventh.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Bury manager Kevin Blackwell told 91热爆 Radio Manchester:

"Brentford are a good side. Look what they did to Chelsea here (in the FA Cup).

"It was going to be a tough game and it didn't disappoint, but I've got a good belief in the boys.

"I've been saying for a while that the two boxes have been our problem.

"But the two centre-halves that have come in have looked very strong, and up front, Nicky Ajose has added a different dimension to us."
