Wolves: Stale Solbakken has no suggestions he will be sacked

Under-pressure Wolves boss Stale Solbakken says he has had no suggestion he is on the verge of being sacked.

Solbakken's side have fallen to 18th in the Championship, after only one win in their last five league matches.

And responding to questions from 91热爆 WM over his future, the summer appointment replied: "That is not for me to answer.

"I've not heard anything that suggests anything else [over his future], and I would certainly go on like I always have and try to turn it around."

Norwegian Solbakken was named as Wolves boss in May following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Wolves began their first campaign under Solbakken disappointingly, however the club looked to be turning it around early in December with three wins out of four matches.

But the club lost that momentum after losing all three of their matches since Christmas, conceding eight goals while scoring only one.

"At this moment in time, everything is going the way we don't want it to go," Solbakken said.

"They're trying and I don't want to blame any players because I see they are down - the last thing we should do is pull excuses. I've got to take the responsibility and so do the players.

"It's only together we can get out of the very big hole we are in at the moment."

The loss of Bakary Sako during Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Crystal Palace lengthened Wolves injury list, which includes Slawomir Peszko, Razak Boukari, Tongo Doumbia and Bjorn Sigurdarson.

And Solbakken says he needs those players out of the treatment room if Wolves are looking to climb the table.

"We need points quite quickly now, and it's about how quickly the injured players come back into match form, and which players need a rest," he said.

"Everyone can see we are down to our bare bones in some areas on the pitch. But can we increase the competition in some positions and the quality in others?"
