Manager Pat Fenlon was disappointed to see Hibernian deliver a flat performance at Easter Road as they slumped to a 1-0 loss to Ross County.

"That wasn't good enough," he told 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland. "We didn't do enough.

"They made it difficult for us but we didn't get to the tempo we needed to be passing the ball at.

"The players have let themselves down. I thought we played well enough at Kilmarnock but you've got to back that up and we haven't done that today."

Hibs remain fourth in the Scottish Premier League table but have picked up just four points from their last seven matches.

And they struggled for long spells to break down a resolute County side that left one striker up top and packed everyone else behind the ball.

Visiting skipper Richard Brittain headed in the only goal on 57 minutes.

Hibs upped their game after going behind but did not really trouble goalkeeper Mark Brown.

"We've got to take the initiative at home, we can't wait for something to happen to us to give us a spark," added Fenlon.

"We can't wait for the last 10 minutes to get a tempo about our game.

"Give them [County] credit for their game plan but we have to make sure that when we play at home we raise the tempo."

Fenlon arrived at Easter Road in November last year and staved off the threat of relegation before the season ended with a humiliating Scottish Cup final defeat to Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

"There is no doubt we have made progress this year," said the Irishman.

"We're miles ahead of where we got to today. There's a lot more in them.

"But the key is if people think we have made progress and they can rest on their laurels then that will change.

"It's not about patting yourself on the back and enjoying our points tally.

"We need to make sure we kick on.

"I firmly believe we are better than where we are in the league at the moment.

"But we need to show a bit more desire and ambition to do that."
