Hearts hit with transfer embargo before latest delay in wages

Hearts had a transfer embargo imposed on them by the Scottish Premier League even before this month's delay in the payment of wages.
Six players and manager John McGlynn have not received October salaries.
It is the second month in a row that Hearts players and staff have had to wait for payments.
And it understood that the SPL board imposed the embargo, allowed under fresh rules this season, although the sanction was not made public.
Neither the SPL nor the Edinburgh club would make any comment on the sanction or why the decision was kept private.
Hearts were repeatedly late in paying players last season.
That prompted the SPL to introduce new rules in the summer regarding paying players on time and allowing the parent body to punish clubs.
The SPL will discuss the issue again at a board meeting next Monday.
Former Hearts winger Rudi Skacel has been given training facilities at Tynecastle but has indicated on Twitter that he is unlikely to sign again for the Edinburgh outfit despite still searching for a new club.
