Swindon 1-1 Scunthorpe

  • Published

Struggling Scunthorpe United came from behind to rescue a draw with 10-man Swindon Town.

The Robins led when James Collins scored from five yards out and should have doubled their advantage when Matt Ritchie was through on goal but he was denied by keeper Sam Slocombe.

Swindon had Aden Flint sent off for a second booking in the 33rd minute.

And the Iron levelled 11 minutes after the break when Karl Hawley headed Mark Duffy's cross home.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill told 91热爆 Radio Humberside:

Both teams could have won - Knill

"All we said at half-time was be patient and then once we are in those areas let's get some crosses in. It was a great goal to get us back in the game.

"I have to be honest, they had some chances, and I would expect them to. They've got some top quality players and probably both managers will be thinking we could have won.

"I don't need anymore hope for the future, I know we are going to be OK. The players are working really hard and everybody else is working really hard to turn this around."
