Ex-Shrewsbury striker James Collins missed from four yards out after good work by Williams in the first half.
VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner told 91热爆 Radio Shropshire:
"We didn't deserve a point. We came up against better players and we made silly errors.
"Generally we were quite poor with the ball and I thought we had weathered the storm - but then conceded."
Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio told 91热爆 Wiltshire:
"A typical game that in the past we used to dominate and maybe lose.
"In general, for 70 minutes, we dominated the game (and) we should score more goals.
"At the end we came out with three points (which were) fully deserved.
"If you want to stay at the top you have to suffer in the way we suffered today."
