Andy Robinson's brilliant Brunton Park hat-trick against Carlisle made it two League One wins in two for Tranmere.

Robinson destroyed Carlisle with two impressive powerful strikes.

The 32-year-old midfielder netted twice in the space of seven first-half minutes, the first from the edge of the box, then from a 25-yard free-kick.

But he saved the best for after the break when he thumped home an unstoppable 30-yard free-kick to put an end to Carlisle's attempted fightback.

Carlisle manager Greg Abbott made a tactical change midway through the first half, bringing on teenage striker Mark Beck to partner home debutant Danny Cadamarteri, who went closest for the Cumbrians with a glancing header.

VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore told 91热爆 Radio Merseyside:

"This has been a lucky ground for me. I've had a few good results here.

"It's hard to pick out individuals, but Andy Robinson was just unbelievable.

"For the third one, I was screaming for him not to hit it. It was miles out, but it's flown in.

"The clean sheet was the big thing for me because they've thrown a lot at us. Everything that's gone in our box, we've dealt with it."
