Peterborough United striker Jonson Clarke-Harris is ready to bide his time for a first-team place as he looks to make the step up to Championship level.

The 18-year-old recently joined Posh - for whom he made his debut aged only 16.

"I've just got to show the gaffer that I'm here and want to be part of the team every week.

"If he thinks I'm doing well, my chance will come," the 18-year-old told 91热爆 Radio Cambridgeshire.

Clarke-Harris became Coventry's youngest first-team player

And such is his potential that Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson described signing him as a "no-brainer".

The teenager was aware Posh were interested in him last season and believes moving to London Road will lead to a big step forward in his career.

"I've loved the couple of weeks I've been here. I've settled in quite well and get along with everyone in the team - and the banter's great," said Clarke-Harris, who sees himself as a flair player.

"I'm a powerhouse, I like running at players and shooting," he added.
