Brentford moved to within five points of the League One play-offs with victory over Oldham Athletic.
Marcus Bean gave the home side the lead after 68 seconds with a close-range shot from Clayton Donaldson's throw.
Toumani Diagouraga set up substitute Niall McGinn, who shot into the bottom corner for Brentford's second.
Brentford move on to 59 points with sixth-placed Carlisle on 64 points, although the Cumbrian side have a game in hand.
