Notts County have signed teenage forward Tyrell Waite from Ilkeston FC after a successful trial with the club.
Waite, 17, came through Ilkeston's youth system and scored 14 goals for the academy side last season.
The Meadow Lane club's chief executive Jim Rodwell said: "It really is about buying into potential.
"One of the remits the manager [Keith Curle] was given is that we intend to make it a priority to sign young, emerging talent."
Waite was promoted to Ilkeston's first team last summer and scored their first goal after their reformation in 2011.
He signed a two-year deal with the Northern Premier League Division One South club earlier this month.
"We'd like to place on record our thanks to Ilkeston for the way in which they have dealt with this transfer," added Rodwell.
