Hibernian sign Honduran international Jorge Claros
Rangers target Jorge Claros has joined Hibernian on a year-long deal from his Honduran club Motagua.
The 26-year-old midfielder had impressed Ibrox manager Ally McCoist while on trial but no deal was done.
The player told the Hibs website: "I am happy to be here. I have been treated very well since I arrived in Edinburgh.
"The game is very fast over here and I am looking forward to playing in the SPL. The Scottish fans are very passionate about football."
And Claros, nicknamed "The Pitbull", added: "I hope to give the right results on the pitch for the team. I have now been in Scotland for two weeks and feel I have learned a lot about Scottish football.
"Everyone has made me feel welcome during my time here and I am also very thankful to my good friend Emilio Izaguirre (Celtic player), who has made me feel at home in Scotland as I do in Honduras."
After Rangers' 4-0 win over Hibs on Saturday, McCoist had said of Claros, capped 29 times for Honduras: "I do like him and wouldn't mind getting him on board, but I think we do need to prioritise other areas of the park."
