Celtic's new signing Rabiu Ibrahim says he is ready to fight for a first-team place in Neil Lennon's side.

The 20-year-old Nigerian winger, who has signed a three-year deal, is confident of proving a success in Scotland's top flight.

"I will work very hard for me and for the team," he said.

"My immediate goal is to play for Celtic and work hard for the team and try to win trophies, starting with the league this season."

Ibrahim, a Nigeria Under-23 international, recently negotiated the termination of his contract with Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven.

And he expressed his determination to make an impression, adding: "The gaffer has been encouraging me in training and has made me feel at home.

"He has the final say but of course I am ready, that's why I am here.

"You always want to aim for the highest and to be the best player."

The winger was reluctant to compare himself with other players, adding: "I'm my own player with flair and creativity. I love to assist goals as well as score them."
