Plymouth Argyle manager Carl Fletcher has criticised the decision to send off defender Onismor Bhasera in their 1-1 draw at Bradford in League Two.

Zimbabwean left-back Bhasera was sent off for two yellow cards late in the key relegation clash at Valley Parade.

"I think he's made two fouls in the game," Fletcher told 91Èȱ¬ Radio Devon.

"So to get sent off for two fouls in the whole 90 minutes sums up the way they want to throw yellow cards around these days."

Bhasera, 25, has been one of Argyle's most consistent performers since returning to the side after a lengthy period out with a knee problem.

And with both sides desperate for points as they try to avoid relegation from the Football League, Fletcher felt referee Brendan Malone did not show enough leniency.

"It's just disappointing, you just can't make a tackle," he said. "Especially today where passions are high and people are working their socks off and there's lots at stake.

"The pitch was boggy and slippery and there's going to be mistimed tackles.

"It's just a shame we don't get any leeway with it, but that's what you get from referees that have never played football before."
