Inverness Caledonian Thistle have signed Wolves midfielder David Davis on loan until January.

The 20-year-old has previously been on loan at Darlington, Walsall and Shrewsbury Town.

Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher was looking to strengthen his midfield after a series of injuries.

"Aaron Doran's injury against Kilmarnock is the latest in an amazing run of injuries we've suffered," said Butcher.

"I've never known such a casualty chart in the opening weeks of a season.

"This left us needing to strengthen our midfield and, having just signed a new deal with a Premiership club, Davis has the capability to do really well for us.

"David is keen to sample the SPL and has committed himself to us and we're grateful to Wolves."

Davis made his debut for Wolves as a late substitute against Northampton in the Carling Cup last week.

Meanwhile, Butcher is also keen to recruit one more player ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Inverness picked up their first Scottish Premier League victory of the season against Kilmarnock on Saturday, winning 2-1.
