Midfielder Jonathan Hogg said his desire to establish himself as a first team player was behind his move from Aston Villa to Watford.
The 22-year-old has arrived at Vicarage Road for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal.
"I'm at the stage of my career now where I need to be playing games," Hogg told .
"I wanted to bring my family with me, I wanted to settle down."
Hogg looked to have established himself at Villa, after making five Premier League appearances at the start of last season, but .
He is already one game into his Hornets career, playing the full 90 minutes of Sunday's 2-2 draw with Birmingham City.
"It was a lively start against Blues, Villa's rivals, so it had a bit more to it," he added.
"I thought we did really well, we were 2-1 behind and showed a lot of character to come back and draw two each.
"We've got a great bunch of lads here, I don't know them as well as I should do, but the more I play the more I'll get to know what they do.
"We'll definitely be looking up the table in the next couple of fixtures."
