Marc Richards scored against Crawley on the opening day of the season
Manager Micky Adams has been delighted by Port Vale's form in front of goal, despite the loss of captain Marc Richards to an ankle injury.
Vale have scored 12 times in five matches, with four of them coming in the win against Accrington on Saturday.
"We've got to take the load away from Marc as much as we can and we've shown there are goals in the side," the Vale boss told 91热爆 Radio Stoke.
Striker Richards scored 43 goals in the last two seasons for Port Vale.
The 29-year-old netted a free-kick during the 2-2 draw against Crawley on 6 August but has not featured at first-team level since the opening day of the campaign.
In his absence, Sean Rigg has scored four goals in three matches for the Valiants, who have taken eight points from their first four matches in League Two.
"Sean is getting his rewards at the moment," said Adams. "He has the ability and I'm pleased for him because in the second half of last season, he had a tough time here."
