Scotland manager Craig Levein has told 91热爆 Scotland he will consider David Goodwillie for selection after a rape charge against the striker was dropped.

The Crown Office said there was insufficient evidence in law for the case to proceed and Levein told Sportsound that removes any barrier to a cap.

"It certainly does," he said.

"One of the reasons he hasn't been involved until now is because of the charge hanging over him."

"Now that has been dropped, on merit I think he's as good a young striker as there is in Scotland and certainly he'll be one I'll be thinking about."

Levein, who managed the Dundee United striker during his time at Tannadice, says he has improved as a player in recent times.

"He's settled down a little bit," Levein added.

"He's realised that football is the way for him to be successful in his life."

"According to all the stories I'm getting from Tannadice he's concentrating on his football.

"There's absolutely no doubt that he is a fantastic player at a very young age and has still got a lot of improvement to come."
