Coventry City academy duo Nathan Cameron and Danny Ireland have signed new deals at the club.

Defender Cameron, 19, who has represented England at Under-20 level and started 22 matches last season, has signed until June 2013.

Australian goalkeeper Ireland, 22, who also made his first-team debut last season, is committed until June 2012.

Boss Andy Thorn told : "We are developing a strong base of homegrown talent here."

He added: "Nathan was one of the surprises of last season.

"Very few people expected him to start the first game, but he took the opportunity with both hands and became a vital member of the squad.

"We are delighted that Danny has signed. This is a big season for him and we want to see him challenging for a first-team place."
