Norwich man Cody McDonald wants to stay at Gillingham

Gillingham striker Cody McDonald says he would be keen to turn his loan move from Norwich City into something permanent next season.

The 24-year-old took his goal tally for the season to 22 with a late brace in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Cheltenham.

"It's been fantastic and you never know maybe something can be sorted for next year," he told 91热爆 Radio Kent.

"I love it here, the supporters are brilliant, the players are brilliant, everyone's made me feel so welcome."

He added: "We'll just have to wait and see because I've still got a year left on my contract at Norwich so the ball's in their court. Hopefully we can get something sorted."

McDonald in February 2009 after scoring 19 goals in 20 appearances in the first half of the 2008-09 season for the then Ryman Premier side.

But opportunities have been few and far between for the frontman at Carrow Road, with 25 of his 32 Norwich appearances coming as a substitute.

He moved to Priestfield in July as part of the deal that saw Gills striker to the Canaries.
