GB sitting volleyball teams fight for 2012 spots
Britain's goalball and women's sitting volleyball teams are still unsure of whether they will compete at the London 2012 Paralympics.
A decision on receiving host-nation places is not expected until February 2012 to allow them time to "develop".
British Paralympic Association (BPA) boss Tim Hollingsworth said they face "a tougher challenge to meet credible performance standards for London".
He added: "Neither sport competed in Beijing (2008) or Athens (2004)."
The wheelchair fencing squad received host-nation places on Thursday to compete next summer.
Hollingsworth continued: "It is right that they (goalball and women's sitting volleyball) have longer to continue developing prior to any final decision having to be made."
Both sports need to meet the BPA's criteria for "credible performance" which is being demanded of the 300-strong British Paralympics athletes that will go to the Games.
GB Volleyball chairman Richard Callicott said: "While we are disappointed not to be given the green light by the BPA at this stage, the players know that it's not a 'no' and are all determined to keep going to achieve their goal of competing at London 2012."
