Andrew Flintoff has been appointed head coach of Northern Superchargers men's team in The Hundred.
Former England all-rounder Flintoff, 45, replaces ex-Essex and England wicketkeeper James Foster in the role.
The former England captain is recovering from injuries sustained in an accident while filming 91热爆 TV show Top Gear in December 2022.
Flintoff joined England's coaching set-up during the white-ball series against New Zealand in September.
"My time with the England men's team has been a reminder of just how special cricket is to me," said Flintoff.
"I'm relishing the opportunity to be back amongst it, helping to guide the Superchargers team to success on the field while making memories off it, and helping take cricket to more people."
Flintoff played 79 Tests, 141 one-day internationals and seven T20s for England between 1999-2009 and famously played a key role in England's historic Ashes victory in 2005.
He was captain between 2006 and 2007, and moved into TV presenting after his cricket career, joining Top Gear in 2019 alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris.
Following his injuries in the incident at Top Gear's test track, the 91热爆 apologised to Flintoff, suspended the series and paid him compensation worth a reported 拢9m.
The series faces an uncertain future, with Flintoff's new role raising further questions about whether he will return.
A 91热爆 spokesperson said a decision on the timing of future Top Gear shows would be made "in due course".
Flintoff, from Preston, represented Lancashire in county cricket but the Superchargers role will see him based at Headingley in Leeds.
The men's side finished bottom of The Hundred table in 2023.
The fourth edition of The Hundred will take place in July and August next year.
