England's Stuart Broad and Matt Prior undergo surgery

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior and paceman Stuart Broad had surgery on their long-term injuries on Thursday.
Prior has had an operation on an Achilles tendon injury, and Broad on the patella tendon of his right knee.
Broad, 28, will miss November's one-day series in Sri Lanka but hopes to be fit for January's one-day tri-series in Australia which precedes the World Cup.
Prior, 32, played his last Test for England in the 95-run defeat by India at Lord's in July.
The Sussex right-hander, who stepped down from England duty in July because of the Achilles problem, had announced in mid-August that he would be having surgery.
He will begin a rehabilitation and recovery programme with England and his county Sussex during the winter, and his return to full fitness is expected to take four months.
Broad, who had revealed in early August that he would be going under the knife, will undertake a similar recovery programme, is expected to be out for about three months.
