Centuries from Michael Klinger and Alex Gidman saw Gloucestershire to 456-4 on day three at Bristol, eight runs ahead of Glamorgan, to leave a draw likely.

Resuming 20 short of a hundred, Klinger reached his third Championship ton of 2013 alongside Dan Housego (82) before being bagged by Jim Allenby for 142.

After an hour-long rain delay, Gidman reached his ton, off 117 balls, before being dismissed by Dean Cosker for 113.

After a brief rain break, Benny Howell and Hamish Marshall made it to stumps.

"It looks like Michael Klinger has decided to bat on into the final day, in order to get a slim lead, so that his team have a chance to bowl out Glamorgan cheaply to secure an unlikely win.

"With a flat, benign pitch, many thought the best chance for victory would have been to declare behind and have a bowl under leaden skies towards the end of the day.

"Both Klinger and Gidman recorded centuries but, in contrasting fashion, captain Klinger's was obdurate, while former captain Gidman's was aggressive."
