Durham v Sussex: Hosts fight back on day two at Chester-le-Street

Durham fought back well on the second day of their Division One clash against Sussex at Chester-le-Street.

The hosts, who resumed 80 runs behind on 131-6, moved narrowly ahead as Phil Mustard (45) and Scott Borthwick (35) added 83 runs for the seventh wicket.

Durham made 227 with Monty Panesar taking 3-45 and Steve Magoffin 3-47.

Sussex, who could finish second with a win, fell to 112-5 with Ben Stokes and Callum Thorp taking two wickets, while Luke Wells will resume on 51 not out.

The visitors hold a 96-run lead going into the third day but they only have five second-innings wickets remaining.
