VIEWS FROM THE COMMENTARY BOX

91热爆 Radio Newcastle's Martin Emmerson:

"Durham failed to take advantage of the fact they had bowled out Sussex for 211 and found themselves struggling on 131-6 at the close, still 80 behind.

"It was another first day in this weird season in which 16 wickets fell.

"That has become the norm this summer, but Sussex will feel they had the better of the spoils, with 76 from Ben Brown and 50 from Kirk Wernars digging them out of a hole when they had been on 67-5.

"Well done as well to Durham's Mark Stoneman, who got his second half-century of the season against Sussex - albeit with the help of a runner on this occasion, but he says his hamstring should be ok tomorrow."
