Derbyshire batsman Dan Redfern has signed a three-year contract at the County Ground.
The 21-year-old left-hander hit 775 runs in 13 first-class matches last season, including seven half-centuries.
Head coach Karl Krikken said: "Dan has matured as a batsman and produced runs for the team on a consistent basis, often when the pressure was on.
"He is a player with a huge amount of talent and we are delighted to have secured his services."
Shrewsbury-born, Adams Grammar School-educated Redfern, from Tibberton, made his county one-day debut at the age of 16 and played first-class cricket a year later.
"It has been an enjoyable season," said the former England Under-19 international. "It's great to see young players get their opportunity and play a leading role.
"With a young and talented squad, who are very much together as a unit, Derbyshire is an exciting place to be at the present time and I'm looking forward optimistically to the new season."
