Yorkshire 3pts, Hampshire 3pts |
Hampshire batsmen Michael Carberry and Neil McKenzie extended their stand to 232 as Yorkshire went wicketless on a rain-affected third day.
Only 52 overs were possible at the Rose Bowl, but the day belonged to Carberry and McKenzie as they led Hampshire from 116-2 to 291-2, still 241 behind.
Carberry ended the day unbeaten on 140, his first century of an with McKenzie on 95.
A draw seems inevitable, which will not help either
Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale used eight bowlers in his quest for a breakthrough, but they had no answer in the face of Carberry and McKenzie.
Carberry, who until last month was unsure if he would play again after being diagnosed with blood clots on the lung in November, has so far hit 24 fours and a six in his 213-ball innings.
Meanwhile, McKenzie will resume on the final morning within sight of his second Championship century of the summer having faced 199 balls and struck 11 fours.
