Taylor delighted after European win

Katie Taylor secured a fifth successive European Union title by defeating Estelle Mossely of France in the final.

The Irish boxer was victorious on a unanimous points decision in Hungary.

Taylor comprehensively saw off her opponent in the Lightweight to win a first gold medal since her Olympic triumph in London last summer.

The 27-year-old had sealed her place in the decider by seeing off Finland's Mira Potkonen in the semi-finals on Friday, again on a unanimous verdict.

Mossely controversially defeated Great Britain's Natasha Jonas at the semi-final stage.

Taylor picked off her opponent with ease throughout the fight.

The Irishwoman stopped home fighter Benke Sara in the fourth round of Wednesday's quarter-final in Keszthely.

In the Youths competitions in Hungary, Belfast fighter Kristina O'Hara was among four other Irish gold medallists.

O'Hara won the youth light-flyweight title while Jacqui Lynch, Graine Gavin and Amy Broadhurst also won gold in youth and junior finals.
