House update

Well, the existing house has now been fully recorated ready for viewing and on the market, not bad for 4 weekends work 5 bedrooms and a 3 storey landing............we had our 1st viewing last Sunday, and on Monday we where told by the agent they love It?.......But.......they are in a chain so who knows but a very good response for 1st try.

So maybe if all goes well we may settle on the Isle sooner than Sarah and I thought as we have other viewings this weekend too.

Today Saturday 31st March, we had 4 viewing on our property which went very well, and on one had a chain on there property so maybe Monday we will hear from the Agents ?

Its now Monday 2nd April, the house viewings went well on Saturday, and by 9:30am this morning we got an offer on our property without a chain, so It looks like subject to contract we will be arriving my June as planned.......an just cant wait until the exchange takes place so we can start our new life.

Yep, to the dates of the Nicie holiday dates, they are as follows-: closes 29th june and opens again 16th August ( we have our summer holidays in the summer in this part of the world ) and if they're wrong blame Herself ( I just read it from the collander, which is full of holes ) Cheery....

The locals can't wait to eat you alive, though some might prefer their English roasted. # I met some Africans once who told me wistfully that if only their ancestors could have eaten the white folks as fast as they landed, Africa could have done better. I dunno: I don't have a dog (Basenji or Sheltie or Collie etc) in this fight. Interesting theory, you have to admit. Gustatory and patriotic satisfaction all at one go. (In case IBHQ is thinking of censoring this blurb, may I point out that cannibalism has historically not been confined to one continent: we have had our share in the Americas). Personally, I would rather have my cholesterol fix another way.

Good! Have you checked on movers yet? There is plenty of experience and expertise among the ib participants in this regard, it would seem.

You have summer on Lewis? No-one told me!

Mjc, right on about cannibals. A South Pacific friend once described the custom of that place as more like communion than nutrition ie a religious experience. The Caribs, alas only of memory, were accused of cannibalism. There have been more recent North American instances of cannibalism in extremis. The whale ship Essex comes to mind and of course Joh Rae was castigated for suggesting that British Tars would stoop so low.

Thewhitesettler, thanks you for the info. If the weathers nice cant we just have a BBQ?

What gives, old geezer? No news from you. Don't tell me you have given up on your neighbors already, and are putting the Lewis house on the market (sans Aga)? You have to give your neighbors a chance. Take my word for it, you'll all be pally pally if you would only go together at next year's Fank, already being planned by Calum., Annie B and assorted amateurs (in the sense of no fee charged), including the famed railway engineer/train spotter/ and lighthouse builder, Arnish Seaweed. So, hang in there.

Hi MJC, im still here, trying to plan everything at the moment for our move which is currently going to plan...........but please keep your comments coming, LOL not to much of the Old Geezer too (young at heart)

No cannibalism in extremis in the good ole US of A, Hyper-B. Leisurely barbecuing is what we specialize in. What kind of meat? I subscribe to the motto: "Don't ask, don't tell!" So, all of ye, come on over. If we run out of road kill, we'll think of something else to barbecue.
