I have got some good names for dogs if you'd like me to help. It doesn't matter, I'm going to anyway- how about minnie, sloppy, dolly, winnie, lewisina, harrina, hebina, if she does her woopsies on the floor , the best name is " Winnie the POO", ha ha , oh well I'm trying again. Dogs are for other people not for

I could have gone a nice juicy dawg for Christmas, but no-one offered. You could follow whitesettler on the naming front - a (sadly missing) cat called Cat. So therefore, a dog called Dog...... Sensible Suggestion Alert!!!! Quick consult of the visiting babybipeds - google 'behind the name', and many mythical and other Norse names appear. My name is there. Runa, Siri and Kaia were my favourites for a girl dog. Hope you get the moonlight bit organised, there's not much of it up here just now. Meeaow!

What kind of a mutt did you get from Angus? Put a picture up, and then we'll all help with a name. Make sure the eyes show up well. Dogs are not just for Christmas, but I wish turkeys were.

The wee dog will be called Freyja you can look that one up on Google or such like if your really interested. Just to confuse the visiting relatives she will be trained to respond only to gaelic commands, that'll teach them. As soon as Ive mastered the camera a photo you shall have.

Damn. That is a very cuddly appealing pup. A cat could train a dog like that..........

She is sweet and I love her name, it suits her.

Just got back to this blog. WONDERFUL! Really is. How old was she when the photo was taken? She is the kind of dog one simply does not resist. Very expressive eyes, and nice angular face. Great facial/head markings. Lucky you. All the best to both you, CrofterBill, and Freyja. Does she take after Angus's bitch? Working lines?

Another pic of Freyja, CrofterBill? How about pictures of dam and sire? Just curious. I used to have Border Collies, but it was not convenient to have the sheep to exercise the dogs ...

Come on CrofterBill: let's have picture updates. Has the pup caused much damage to house, furniture and clothing yet?

She's as good as gold very little problems so far. 9 weeks when photo was taken or thereabouts. I'll try and do an update every 6 months, you can have too much of a good thing. Angus's dog is like Angus - they both try to sleep as much as possible and work is a four letter word. Plus, I dont think either of them know who the father is - lol.

It looks just like my Getoffthe when we got her, as little puppy, can Border Collies be taught The Gaelic, I believe that they might struggle with English..

We shall wait patiently, CrofterBill. In the meantime, all the best.

Couldn't you afford a colour one?
calumannabel from lewis
As the only other colour common to collies is tan, would it really be worth CrofterBill's forking out on something so contentious as a black&tan?

And as for black and white, someone (from Bristol if i remember correctly) on Trevor Lerwick a while back insisted there was no such thing.

Black and white will do for me. Never answers me back, is grateful for 3 meals a day and a snug place by the fire. Doesnt get upset with where i park my coat and boots. Seems like the best pal I've ever had.
