Failing to mind my own business

As I often do I was minding someone elses business when Windfarms were mentioned.
Now what a good idea that would be said Dougie to Alex, and Alex who was looking for another round, agreed with Dougie.
A windfarm - man man.
Well, they worked out where they would put them. They were very careful to make sure they were not in line with Dougies washing line - Mrs Dougie has a fearful temper.
They decided that 4 would make a nice pattern on the hillside.
Wee Seamus thought 5 looked better and drew it out with his joiners pencil on a beer mat.
By now the place was full of Green specialists and Murdo who knew a thing or three about these electrics said 8 was the number and let that be an end to it.
Nobody would disagree with Murdo, well, not sober anyways.
Angus had been awfy quiet in the corner and eventually asked the now expert team assembled if they would be needing a dog for this job. The assembled expertise asked the inevitable question of Angus.
He replied - doesnt every farm have a dog and he had a new litter due any day now.
The beermat with the final plan on it was whisshed across the room and struck old Angus on the cap, we heard no more from him.
So look out for the ensueing 4 or 5 or even 8 turbines appearing almost any day now.
I'm not holding my breath - you understand.

Wind factories are the new clearances, money talks democracy walks.
How much does it cost to keep people on this windswept bog ? Answer ; clear the land, save a fortune on school closures, hospitals, rescue services etc. this is how it works : drive out the people with turbines then build 'the worlds largest nuclear powerstation'.

I shall claim your first sentence as a Scottish Trueism. The best I have heard yet.

Aye, I agree with Iain from Gravir and your goodself, CrofterBill---
A wee bit different, here though where other more sinister activities are currently taking place.
