Tobacco, and other ingredients in tobacco products, can potentially cause allergies or allergy like symptoms. Cigarettes and electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) contain chemicals which can irritate the body. They may trigger allergy-like symptoms, such as watery eyes, sneezing, or wheezing.
What you can do to try and prevent allergic reactions:
• Employees must adhere to the No smoking policy
• Avoid places with tobacco smoke
• If you cannot avoid places where you will be exposed to second-hand smoke, consider wearing a surgical mask
