Episode 1 - Rocky Shore.
Pete Hayward is a marine biologist and rocky shore guru from Swansea University and he quite literally takes Lionel by the hand and immerses him in one of the greatest expressions of wildlife in Britain - the limestone shore of the Gower Peninsular in Wales.
From a radio-making point of view this is hazardous terrain. The rocks are sharp and every one is encrusted with mussels and barnacles.
But it's the hidden holes underneath overhangs that Pete Hayward wants Lionel to concentrate on - often waist deep in tidal seawaterÌý-Ìýwhere Pete with his special hook canÌýtease large crabs and lobsters from their submarine lairs.
