Byline Afghanistan (100 Women)
What has happened to Afghanistan鈥檚 female journalists?
Since the Taliban came to power in August 2021 eight out of ten women journalists have stopped working.
The few female journalists still working are subject to all kinds of restrictions including no access to official sources, no travelling without a chaperone, as well as abuses such as harassment and low pay.
Previously approximately 17% of accredited journalists working in Afghanistan were women - so where have they all gone and what are they doing now? The 91热爆鈥檚 Sana Safi investigates.
(We hear from a range of Afghan woman, both in the country and outside. Some who have chosen to continue their hard hitting journalism in exile, others who have felt compelled to give their dream up, as well as a new generation of women who are redefining what journalism means to make sure their voices continue to be heard on platforms such as Youtube)
