On Tour in Johannesburg
Exploring the city’s creative boom, with performances from singer Moonchild Sanelly and comedian Tsitsi Chiumya.
Nikki Bedi is on stage at the iconic Market Theatre with film maker Jahmil X T Qubeka, comedian Tsitsi Chiumya, theatre director Clara Vaughan, writer Yewande Omotoso and blue haired singing sensation Moonchild Sanelly.
They talk about the explosion of public art in the city – from graffiti to huge sculptures; about the 11 official languages, and the impact that mix of voices has on their art; and, one hundred years after the birth of Nelson Mandela, about the legacy of apartheid.
There’s high energy live performance from Moonchild Sanelly, and comedian Tsitsi Chiumya takes to the microphone to make us laugh - and break down some taboos.
