Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro took office at the beginning of the year with a promise to bring military values to a country weary of political corruption scandals. Changing attitudes to intersex people in Kenya
Intersex people are those born with a combination of male and female biological characteristics. There is a cultural stigma attached to intersex children, and many undergo surgery to assign their sex after birth, though this can also be problematic in later life. But culture and the law is changing, as Judith Wambare of 91Èȱ¬ Swahili reports.
