The historic Aigburth church which played host to music icon Paul Weller
St. Michael in the Hamlet is one of the most historic and well-known churches in Liverpool.
The Grade I listed building is located close to Liverpool's historic 'Cast Iron Shore', and it was this material which gives the church its distinctive look.
In recent years its become well-known for its live music events and Paul Weller has even played a intimate gig there.
Its an important part of the cities history and now the church is bidding for about 1.6million from Heritage Lottery Fund for a big restoration. BUT they need help.
Vicar Keith Hitchman and Cllr Tom Crone from the Green Party who has just joined their heritage committee, joined Tony Snell to tell him more.
