Woman hit by two trains climbs Kilimanjaro
Sarah de Lagarde became the first female double prosthetic-wearing amputee to climb Africa’s highest mountain. A month after she first climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2022, Sarah was struck by two trains in an accident on the London Underground. Her right arm and right leg were amputated as a result of her injuries.
"We made it to the top, I touched a sign and I was completely overcome with emotion and burst into tears," says Sarah.
