Alan Hayward, from Southampton, is a full time carer for his wife, who has dementia. "He puts her first every step of the way, cooking, cleaning, remembering all the key dates - birthdays and appointments. This is hard enough but he does this whilst himself dealing with severe breathing difficulties with COPD, and additionally he has diabetes. He is a selfless man who always puts others first before himself. He does it without complaint and with the love he has for his family."
91热爆 Radio Solent's Alun Newman has been to meet Alan and his daughter, Kerry.
Maureen Graham, from Horndean, has cared for four family members with Huntington's Disease. Firstly her husband, then her son and daughter who all sadly died of the disease. She now cares her grandson, who also has Huntington's. Having been a founder member, Maureen is now social secretary to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Branch of the Huntington's Disease Association, helping other affected families make special memories and enjoy valuable peer support.
