Pete Bull, from Portsmouth, has been volunteering for Enable Ability's Wheelchair Basketball service for 20 years. "Pete's mentorship and encouragement have undoubtedly changed lives and shaped the future of wheelchair basketball enthusiasts."
Sarah Reynolds, from Portsmouth, set up a support group to help people affected by pregnancy loss."Sarah has created a safe place where people can listen to the experiences of others and share their own if they choose."
Lisa Young has been nominated for her volunteering with the 6th Gosport Air Scout Group for 23 years. "She's the non-film version of Bear Grylls!"
Portia Powell, from Havant, is a domestic abuse survivor and volunteers for "Be Kind. No Excuses CIC" - educating teenagers and their parents, to help them understand the nature of domestic abuse and helping people know what 'red flag' behaviours to look for at the start of a relationship.
The Make a Difference Awards are a chance to say 鈥淭hank You鈥 and show recognition and appreciation for people who love to make life better for others. Nominations for 2024 have now closed. Finalists were selected by a panel of judges. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in September.
