Sink or swim: will the triathlon events go ahead in Paris?
Former triathlete Annie Emmerson says 鈥渁thletes have been really let down鈥 after the men鈥檚 Olympic triathlon was postponed just hours before it was due to be held on day four of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Tests of the River Seine revealed the water was not clean enough for the swim leg to take place.
Organisers say there are back up dates as a contingency, and the event could be contested as a duathlon 鈥 run, bike, run 鈥 as a last resort.
Speaking to Sportsworld鈥檚 Lee James after the men鈥檚 event was postponed, Emmerson says it has been 鈥渕assively disruptive鈥 for the athletes competing.
