TRANSLATION The 18 homes are on part of the Tregunnel Hill car park. The homes were intended to help people who had previously been homeless who were ready to move on from emergency accommodation in hotels, according to Cornwall Council. The first development was built in Truro and two more are being built in Penzance and Penryn. The houses are single-storey self-contained homes, with a kitchen, living and dining area, bedroom and bathroom. Olly Monk, council portfolio holder for housing, said the properties would "provide excellent quality accommodation for single people who would otherwise be homeless".鈥� According to the council there are currently more than 800 households living in temporary or emergency accommodation across Cornwall.

TRANSLATION More than 600 rowers made up 100 crews of three men, three women and a cox. Gig rowing is one of a few sports that enable men and women to compete together. From the 1700s gigs were used to carry pilots out to visiting ships. The tradition of racing was born because the first gig to get its pilot out to the ship got the job. All modern gigs are built to the measurements of one gig - Treffry - which was built by Peters of St Mawes in 1838. There are now about 8,000 rowers in 90 clubs across the UK, Europe and America.
