Commuters are urged to check before they travel as maintenance works at a major rail and tram station are set to cause disruption.

Some platforms at Manchester Piccadilly station will be temporarily shut from Saturday as engineers install new netting to the station鈥檚 glass roof.

The work will be done in six stages until October to reduce disruption.
