What impact did the Americans and Canadians have on the south of England in the run up to D-Day? From guns and gum to sex and cigarettes the two nations certainly left their mark.
When the Americans, both the Yanks and the Canadians, arrived in Hampshire and Dorset during WWII they brought with them a sprinkling of stardust.
Whilst the nations soldiers have contrasting legacies in popular culture, without question, they both had a lasting impact on the local communities that they lived amongst.
