'Everyone admired Beckenbauer - he made it look easy'

The former World Cup winner Franz Beckenbauer has died at the age of 78. He passed away on Sunday 7th January.

He won the World Cup as captain of West Germany in 1974 and lifted the trophy again as manager in 1990. Beckenbauer was nicknamed "Der Kaiser", the Emperor, where he was considered one of the best in the game's history. He had been suffering with ill health in recent years, having undergone heart and hip surgery and also lost his sight in his right eye.

German football journalist Taufig Khalil knew Beckenbauer for 30 years and tells Maz Farookhi about the legacy he will leave behind.
