Leigh-Anne Pinnock: ‘I’m here to show other black girls that yes, you can do it!’
Leigh-Anne Pinnock is a member of one of the biggest girl bands in the world, Little Mix.
This year - almost two years since the band announced a hiatus - Leigh-Anne embarked on a solo career, releasing two songs - her newest called My Love.
And now she's got a new book out, Believe, all about her life growing up, her experiences as the only black member of the band, and as a black woman in the music industry.
She joined Anita Rani in the Woman’s Hour studio to talk about the toll of those experiences on her mental health and how she found her voice.
You can listen to Leigh-Anne’s interview on 91Èȱ¬ Sounds - it’s the Woman’s Hour episode from 27 October.
