Stained Glass of Derry, and a Statue for Tom Dunn in Rostrevor
Stained Glass of Derry, and a Statue for Tom Dunn in Rostrevor
David Caron, editor of the Gazetteer of Irish Stained glass windows, has been exploring the stained glass heritage of places of worship in Derry, including St Columb's Cathedral, St Eugene's Cathedral, and others. When Colum Arbuckle met him at St Eugene's Cathedral he learned about the process of creating these windows, and how many of them are left to celebrate.
And a statue is created to honour Tom Dunn in Rostrevor, County Down. He was a hedge school master, a prominent figure in the United Irishmen movement, and he taught both Presbyterians and Catholics. Fiona Pelgrum, an historical research consultant, and genealogist, explained the project.
Presented by Anne Marie McAleese.
