Episode 11
Three antiques dealers head to a picturesque riverside market in Sommi猫res, where they compete to find two hidden treasures each to sell online for a profit.
Antiques dealers Jo Roberts, Ian Humphries and Harry Khwaja are on a buying trip to the south of France. Their base is a historic French farmhouse in Provence - perfectly located close to some of France鈥檚 best antiques markets. This time, the trio are heading to a picturesque riverside market in Sommi猫res, where they compete to find two hidden treasures each to sell online for a profit.
The trio鈥檚 first challenge is to find something they know will appeal to their loyal customers and social media followers. For former artist Jo, it鈥檚 a set of 12 pieces of handmade paper with pressed flowers, known as botanical inclusions in the trade. Harry, a master of the macabre, goes for a Gothic beeswax bust of a baby, and Ian thinks a set of decorative decoy ducks could be perfect for his interior designer clients. But with a scant grasp of French between them, can they haggle a good price or will they all be ducks out of water when it comes to making deals?
As if the pressure of negotiating in an unfamiliar language weren't enough, the dealers take turns each day to dial up the heat and set each other a challenge to shop to a brief. This time, it is Ian鈥檚 turn, and he has decided that all three of them need to scour the Sommi猫res market for a multi-functional vintage or antique piece.
With just a day to secure a sale and the battle on to make the most profit, which of our trio will come out on top?
